The Joseph J. Lannin Project:
This is an amazing project
about Joseph Lannin, the owner of the Red Sox from 1913
to 1916. Christopher Tunstall, his great-grandson, represented
the family at Mr. Lannin's posthumous induction into the
Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in 2004. Mr. Tunstall
said, "Now that Mr. Lannin's accomplishments have been publicly
recognized, the door for the Red Sox to once again become
World Champions is now open..." Needless to say when the
Sox were down against the Yankees in the playoffs in 2004,
I received numerous calls from reporters saying "Well, it
doesn't look like your prediction is going to come true
this year..." I remained firm in my belief that the Sox
would come back and win the World Series; I had an inherent
knowingness of this, and I remained true to the spirit of
Mr. Lannin and the Red Sox Nation.
