Volume 2, Issue 1.

Despite record snows in Boston, we've been busy. Here's an update:

    WEIRD SCIENCE PRESENTATIONS

Dr. Rick Leskowitz has spoken to several medical groups about "The Joy of Sox", including the MGH Collaborative Medicine Group and the NE Society for Clinical Hypnosis. The response has been extremely positive. He has also written about his findings on group energies, and the journal Subtle Energies and Energy Medicine will soon publish his paper. Here's a link to the full article. Or go to his blog post from May 2008 for a quick version - one that's written in normal English!

GETTING TO THE STARTING LINE !

The start of 2009 means that we have to renew some of our licenses with Major League Baseball. We need their permission to use their archival footage and to post our trailer (view it by clicking the MLB logo on our homepage - it's hosted by MLB). The fact is, we need to raise funds for post-production expenses like animation, sound mixing, color correction and final editing. We also need to pay MLB licensing fees to enter the film into the various national and international film festivals and to screen it locally for our supporters (YOU!) It's a $15,000 hurdle, and every donation counts. This is where your tax-deductible donations will make all the difference in the world. To contribute click the donate button below:

Or donate online at www.TheJoyOfSoxMovie.com (and click on the link in the "Donate Now!" section).

Thank you in advance for your support and your help in making The Joy of Sox a reality.

    2008'S PLAY OF THE YEAR

Major League Baseball's Play of the Year for 2008 was recently chosen, and one of our own was elected (hint - his first name is Gabe): watch it at mlb.com (then click the "Play" button). And if you hadn't heard, Gabe recently signed with the Tampa Bay Rays. This could mean that last month's experiment with group intention was successful, but our aim was off - he got a job, just not in Boston!

    IS HE REAL OR NOT?

A short film written and produced by Karen Webb, a co-producer of The Joy of Sox, will have its world premiere for cast, crew, family, and friends on March 14th at 7 PM in Hopkinton at the St. John's Parish Hall. In Is He Real or Not?, a little girl questions her beliefs after hearing that Santa's not real.
Tickets ($5 suggested donation) will be available at the door or online at www.enterstagelefttheater.com. Raffle prizes and live entertainment will also be part of the evening. All Joy of Sox supporters are invited to this event. More information on the film can be found at www.IsHeRealorNot.com.
